The Excitement Never Ends

Tell us about the last thing you got excited about — butterflies-in-the-stomach, giggling, can’t-wait excited.

This actually happened a couple of days ago. It was my first country concert – Jason Aldean! I was excited for it the moment I clicked purchase on Ticket Master even though I was a couple of months away from the day. The excitement built and built until the day was here.

I couldn’t get through work fast enough. It seemed to be going extremely slow, where seconds felt like minutes – 4 o’ clock was never going to come. That all stopped though when I didn’t get off on time. The afternoon took a complete 180 and my mood changed in an instant, and I don’t know why.

Here are some of the things that happened:

  • My camera wouldn’t turn on, at all. I bought the camera the day before though, and it was working when I got home. I charged it all night just to make sure that it had enough battery power for the concert, but nothing. I was so pissed.
  • I didn’t get home right away. I lent my car to my boyfriend so that he could run some errands while I was getting ready. That took 30 minutes away from my prep time.
  • I couldn’t find anything to wear. Nothing was fitting right, not even the hat that I wanted to wear. It is a girl’s worst nightmare.
  • Traffic! There was an accident so you had to detour. It was crazy; you would figure that the fairgrounds was organized with all the events that it holds.

After all of that, actually walking up the event and seeing everyone else excited got me back in the mood. After buying some t-shirts and a beer (this is a country concert, after all!), it was like a dream. The opening act was Thomas Rhett. We didn’t get to see or hear him because we were trying to find our seats.

Jake Owen came on next and oh my. He is handsome beyond belief. I was jealous of everyone in the pit. He was taking everyone’s phones to take pictures and pulled a little boy on stage. It was amazing. And his voice! We cannot forget about that. It was a dream, it sounded better than it did on the radio. Looks and a voice? Oh boy, did I want him!

AND then the head liner – JASON ALDEAN! It was amazing. The moment they started to play his intro, you could feel the electricity from the crowd. It was unbelievable. I can see why the performers say that the electricity they feel on stage is amazing. Just being in the crowd, I had the chills.

Jason was phenomenal. He sounded much better than he does on the radio. It was perfection. Everyone was signing along and so was I. “Fun Sabrina” made an appearance and it was my boyfriend’s first time seeing her and he liked it. I did not want the night to end.

I cannot wait to go to my next country concert – Luke Bryan!
